Difference Between Shiatsu And Ashiatsu Massage

Pressure is used in shiatsu and ashiatsu, but one uses the fingers, and the other uses the feet. In Japanese, the words “atsu,” “shi,” and “ashi” are all used to talk about pressure. When using these massage therapy techniques, it’s important to know how the physical parts of your body relate to the good and bad energy you have inside you.

In Chinese Tradition, Shiatsu And Ashiatsu Massages Are:

The bad energy that can come from daily stress can block your natural energy and sense of well-being. According to Chinese philosophy, if your body and energy are cut off, you may feel pain because your organs are spiritually and mentally connected to your body. You won’t be able to rest and get better until you’ve found balance.

Shiatsu And Ashiatsu Massage Therapy Have The Following Benefits:

Shiatsu can be done in many different ways. Some massage therapists only use their thumbs, fingers, and palms to press on the body lightly, and some people like to use their knees, elbows, and forearms instead. They could also do exercises like stretching and kneading to focus on certain areas.

  • It helps to ease the pain of arthritis
  • It relieves insomnia
  • The flow of blood is better.
  • Also keeps and brings back good energy

Shiatsu massage helps with both physical and mental pain. Massage therapists often use shiatsu to help people who are depressed or have physical pains. When you get a Shiatsu massage, your energy can move freely through your body.

Ashiatsu refers to a style of foot massage that was developed in Japan. This type of massage is also called “barefoot massage.” You can do it on a massage table or on the ground. The therapist puts normal foot pressure on your back in key places all along the spine. Deep tissue massage is similar to ashiatsu, but ashiatsu is more gentle.

Most people seek Ashiatsu as an alternative medicine for back pain, but it also helps in nerve release, relieving back spasms and pinched nerves.. Also, ashiatsu improves posture, treats back problems, eases tension and pain, and generally makes people feel more relaxed.

Reflexology Is Not Ashiatsu:

The principle behind reflexology is that specific areas of the feet correspond to specific areas of the body. During a reflexology (or zone therapy) session, the practitioner presses on certain parts of the hands, feet, or ears. Reflexology says that putting pressure on certain points on foot will physically change the corresponding part of the body.

But Ashiatsu has a unique taste. The therapist uses their feet to massage the client during an ashiatsu massage. The practitioner’s feet are also used to massage the feet. The massage therapist can use their feet anywhere except on the face and stomach.

Thai Massage And Ashiatsu Are Not The Same:

A Thai massage is usually done with the client fully dressed on a mat on the floor. This type of massage is known for a series of supported stretches through which the therapist leads the client. Along with these stretches, a massage called “compression” is given. No lotions, oils, or massage creams are used in Thai massage.

While ashiatsu massage is performed on a standard massage table, the type that most people are used to lying on for a massage. The massage therapist stands on a set of bars that hang from the ceiling. Most massage therapists will keep one foot firmly on the table while using the other to apply pressure in long, sweeping strokes. They use a cream, oil, or lotion to do it.

Ashiatsu Is Not Like Shiatsu:

Shiatsu is similar to Thai massage in that it is done on a floor mat or table without massage oils. Shiatsu requires you to know much about the meridian system and Eastern medicine. The practitioner will use this information to apply finger pressure (where “shi” stands for finger and “atsu” stands for pressure) to specific spots on the body to make positive changes. Some people who do shiatsu will use their feet to put pressure on certain spots. You can also use your thumb, palm, elbow, or knee. Shiatsu and ashiatsu both have the same name, but they are not the same thing.
